No longer that girl.... No longer a wife

The time has come for me to say,
So long, good bye, have a nice day

Have a good year, have a good life
I've come to realize, you have a wife

Lives destroyed, both yours and mine
But we knew it was only a matter of time

Good while it lasted, over too fast
Time to move on, forget the past

What was I thinking, a buddy of sorts
A friend, a lover, just sexual sports

Well in the fun I seem to have lost
A life a happiness at any cost

Was it worth it, not any regret
I tend to smile, I refuse to fret

But only time will tell the loss of it all
No longer will I sit and wait for a call

Maybe a different time or place
But now it's over in any case

So as I pick up the pieces and move on with my life
I'm no longer that girl and no longer a wife

Why do people cheat?

I have always been a firm believer that anyone can be tempted if you put yourself into a situation where temptation can be presented. But I guess the question I have is..... Why do people give into that temptation? Is it boredom, loneliness, unhappiness or what? I have heard stories of people having affairs but still loving their significant other, but is that possible? Well I guess to answer my own question I would say it is possible to still love that person but either you are not in love with them or you just have no respect for them or yourself. And if both parties having the affair are involved with other people then what does that get you? It gets 2 broken homes and 4 messed up heads! And do people really think that having an affair with a married person will get them anywhere because as the old saying goes...If they do it with you they will do it to you! I really believe though that men and women have affairs for totally different reasons. Of course this is just my own personal opinion but I think women have emotional affairs and men have sexual affairs. I don't think either party sets out to be malicious to their partner but in the end they are. I don't think women have emotional affairs because their husband doesn't listen I just think they want someone else to listen and show they care. And men also don't have sexual affairs just because sex isn't good with their spouse, I think it is because it is just different sex.
I truly believe that no woman is happy just being someones sex buddy just as no man wants to be just a woman's emotional partner. So why do people do it or what do they intend to gain from it all?
Now I have no idea why I have decided to write this blog but I always ponder the question of why and just thought that maybe if I put all down in black in white maybe I would see it more clearly. I also wonder do men and women have different desires or are they in all actuality the same just packaged differently?

Should the question of 'race' even be asked

Should it be legal to ask race, religion, or sex on applications for employment, admissions, or unemployment? Wether it be an application for employment, unemployment, or even college admissions- race, religion or sex shouldn’t even pertain to the qualification, so why would they ask the question. Okay I understand there may be some jobs that may be gender specific but the race of said persons should never matter.

I personally feel that race (or religion) should not be asked on anything I fill out since this should not be used to help, or hinder, me (or anyone else) in any way.

I would like to think that any gain I have obtained in life has been obtained through my own knowledge or connection and not because someone needs to fill a ‘quota’ of any kind. The same goes for things I may have been denied in life. Hopefully these have been denied because I am not qualified and not because of race, sex, or religion.

Okay what made me think about this is I recently had to fill out the application for unemployment benefits in the state of Michigan and was very surprised when the application asked my race. I have to ponder the question, what on earth does my ‘race’ have to do with my eligibility for unemployment compensation? If I have worked the amount of weeks required to qualify, then that should be all they need to be know. I would think in this day and time the question of race should not be asked on anything, especially an application for unemployment benefits.

Amber Alert Hoax

This is a copy of a posting I wrote on another blog of mine and I just wanted to post it here also.

Yesterday evening I received a forwarded message telling of an Amber Alert that had been issued for a 3 year old child that had been abducted from Monroe. This message even told the color of the vehicle and gave a license plate number.
With an abduction incident just happening in the city of Monroe recently I immediately forwarded the message to people on my cell phone contacts list and then I decided to make a phone call to my sister and ask her to turn on her television to see what was going on. My sister watched and said there was nothing going across her screen (there usually is when an Amber Alert is issued).
Of course I initially thought this is a great idea in a case of an Amber Alert. People are always on their cell phones so why not send a message and get it to as many people as possible. Then after hearing that this was nothing but a hoax that was sent to people in many different states I couldn't believe it. I have to ask, how could someone do such a thing? It is like 'crying wolf'. Now will it be believed by people if this was to happen for the real thing? Hopefully some 'moron' didn't just ruin this for someone who really needs this information passed along.
Well, even though I fell for the 'hoax' and forwarded it to my friends and family, I can say that I would forward one again if I ever received a text message like that again. I guess I would rather take the chance of it being fake and still getting the word out, than to just ignore it and find out it was a true Amber Alert.

My trip to Madison

Well, I just got back from vacationing in Wisconsin. I went for an International Coleman Collectors Convention (ICCC), I must say I was pretty hesitant at first about attending. I wasn't sure what to expect and I figured I would not have anyone to talk to or that I just wouldn't have fun. Boy was I wrong! I got to meet people from all over the world at this convention. Like Neil McRae and Sylvia from England, Erwin and his wife from Germany, and Erik Leger, also from Germany. I also met many great people from Canada (Jahn, Dennie, ...etc.) and all over the United States (Murf, Carla, Don, Bubba, Susan, Hank, etc) . Although I wasn't sure about attending this event, I was sad to see it end. The social atmosphere was just awesome.
I really enjoyed hanging out with Sylvia at the casino and sitting around the table talking to Carla. The nitely dicussions around the hotel table with everyone was great too.
Next year it is being held in Seattle, Washington and I really hope to be able to attend and see all these great people again.
